Location

The word “Tanjung” is Bahasa Indonesian for headland. The villa is located on the tanjung between Mushroom Bay and Tamarind Bay. Most ferries to Lembongan and the local fishing boats pass within 30 metres of it, so the passing seascape is always interesting to watch.Being on a headland, the villa is open to cooling breezes, an important factor if you are thinking of coming in the hot season. It is noticeably cooler in the Mushroom/Tamarind bay areas of Lembongan than in the main accommodation area of Jungut Batu, further to this, Villa Tanjung’s elevated location makes it the perfect place to enjoy your Nusa Lembongan holiday.

Tanjung has uninterrupted 270 degree views over water. It overlooks Lembongan’s three famous surf breaks of Playgrounds, Lacerations and Shipwrecks – and beyond them to the island of Bali (20 km away) and Mount Agung.

The villa is only 200 metres from a beautiful, sandy and secluded beach which locals call “Secret Beach”. Our staff can assist you in accessing this beach where you will feel the true essence of island life with your toes in white sand and refreshing ocean dips in the crystal clear waters.

Villa

Villa Tanjung was designed by world famous Bali based architects Grounds Kent (best known for Four Seasons Bali).

The buildings include 6 bedroom suites and an open air living and dining pavilion.
The dramatic living/dining pavilion is innovative in its design, using grand spans of laminated bamboo along with natural bamboo components to create a breath-taking space. The gentle curved shape of both the pavilion and the infinity pool in front of it follow the natural shape of the site on this pronounced headland, embracing the panoramic ocean views. The alang–alang (thatched grass) roof over the pavilion allows it to blend seamlessly into the natural landscape of Nusa Lembongan.

The villa’s gardens were designed by Made Wijaya, Bali’s leading landscape architect.

There is a large grassed area for children to play and within the pool is a shallow paddle area for toddlers.

Bedrooms

Villa Tanjung is designed to accommodate up to 12 guests in six bedroom suites. However, we can accommodate update to 14 by  using two folding beds, noting with three guests in one room reduces the spaciousness of the rooms and the luxury feel of the villa.

Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom. All bedroom suites have spectacular ocean views.

The master suite features a king size bed, a large walk in dressing room (with a day bed) and a very large bathroom with open air shower.

Four other bedroom suites are configured to suit either family occupancy with connecting door access between two adjoining suites – or four separate lockable bedroom suites. Two of the rooms have a king size beds. The other two rooms have two single beds which can be configured to a king bed. A recently added sixth bedroom, located next to the master suite offers the option of either king or twin bed setup.

Living

The dramatic living & dining pavilion is open air on two sides to take advantage of the breath-taking views. The seating area surrounds an antique coffee table, the perfect place for conversation, reading or watching TV. The teak dining table can seat 12 guests in comfort. The teak high- bar table with stools is ideal for informal drinks and is adjacent to the two self-service mini-bars and tea/coffee facilities. The antique day bed directly facing the ocean is ideal for reading or just watching the boats go by as you reflect on your day  in paradise or plan island activities for tomorrow.

In front of the living/dining pavilion is the pool, curved shaped to follow the natural shape of the headland. A pool fence can be installed on request. Within the pool is a shallow paddle area for toddlers.

Unusually for Lembongan, Villa Tanjung has extensive landscaped gardens with large grassed areas.

There is direct private access to the ocean via stone steps leading down to a stainless steel ladder. The waters around Villa Tanjung are clean and clear with abundant coral, ideal for confident ocean swimmers and snorkellers.

Nusa Lembongan

Nusa Lembongan, 20km off mainland Bali, is part of the Nusa Islands, with the larger Nusa Penida and smaller Nusa Ceningan as neighbours.  Lembongan is a water lovers playground, visitors enjoy surfing, snorkelling, diving, stand up paddle boarding & swimming in the temperate turquoise waters.

Or if you are looking for gentler, land based experiences Nusa Lembongan has a number of Yoga shalas offering drop in classes or private in-villa lessons.  An island holiday is not complete with out some pampering and we have wonderful Day Spas to ensure you leave recharged & relaxed.  Or our staff can arrange an in villa massage for you.

Nusa Lembongan has  a great range of restaurants, cafes, local warungs and beach clubs for guests to enjoy.  Most of these offer a complimentary pick up and drop off service, reservations can be made for you by our staff.

Getting around Lembongan is mostly done by scooter, however if this is not for you we can assist you in hiring a golf buggy or gasoline car for you to explore the island.

Transfers from Bali

We can assist you in arranging your return boat transfers, which include land transfers in Bali.  On arrival in Lembongan the Villa Tanjung staff will meet you and assist you with your luggage and transfer you to the villa.  The boat trip takes approximately 30-40 minutes each way.

There are a number of boat companies with varying departure times from Sanur, with options to arrive in Mushroom Bay or Jungut Batu Bay.  Once you have secured your booking our team will send you boat details for you to select your preferred travelling time.

If you are planning to transfer to Nusa Lembongan on the same day you arrive in Bali please ensure your flight arrives prior to 3pm and for your departure day if planning to go direct from Lembongan to the airport we suggest a flight for after midday.
